The RAF will show the F-35B in the air!

The British Royal Air Force will offer visitors to this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days an exclusive premiere. For the first time on the European continent, its F-35B Lightning II aircraft will be presented in a dynamic display.

The most advanced fighter aircraft of today, the F-35 Lightning II, has already appeared twice at the Mošnov airport. In 2021, the machine of the Italian Air Force was presented in a static display, and last year the Dutch aircraft appeared in a flypast. This year, we can look forward to a full-scale dynamic display of the F-35B variant, which is capable of vertical take-off and landing and which has not yet made an appearance at NATO Days. One aircraft will also be on site in the static display.

"Dynamic display of the F-35B is one of the best things that can be seen at air shows nowadays, and we as organizers did not even hope that we would be able to offer this to the visitors of our event this year. It's a dream come true for us as we had no indication that the British Air Force was planning to expand its representation after the Eurofighter was confirmed," said Zbynek Pavlačík, Chairman of Jagello 2000. "Furthermore, it was the British Air Force whose Harrier gave us the first and last opportunity to see the aircraft 'hanging' in the air, and we are really excited that thanks to the RAF and the F-35B we will be able to see this exclusive ability again."

The F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation, single-engine, multi-role fighter aircraft from Lockheed Martin. Its main advantage is its wide range of uses, where the aircraft can provide direct air support to troops on the ground, fight for air superiority or engage in electronic warfare. It is produced in three variants, of which the F-35B is distinguished by its vertical take-off and landing capability.

Currently, the F-35 aircraft are in the arsenals of the USA, Israel or Australia, and of European countries, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands or Norway. This list is continually expanding as countries receive their orders. The Czech Republic is also considering buying them to replace the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen aircraft.

In combination with the Typhoon, the British Air Force will present its entire arsenal of combat aircraft.
